CONSTANT DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS: OUR HISTORY FROM 1989 TO THE PRESENT.
1989
Friulair S.r.l. was founded in 1989 by President Luigi Vaccaro. During the first year, the company's main activities were market research, marketing, servicing and maintenance of dryers and air compressors.
1990
The company moved to a small 150 m2 warehouse in Romans d'Isonzo (GO). The first employees were hired (a female employee and four specialised workers). First DF series launch Friulair launches the DF series with copper heat exchangers; the control tool is a simple thermostat with analogue thermometer for the smaller models, plus a fan control for the larger models.
1994
DF series renewal The DF series underwent an evolution by adopting the R134a gas, which was more ecological and less polluting than R22. New AD series The AD series was developed, consisting of the upgraded DFs with built-in aftercooler and pre-filter.
1995
The company bought the building in Ronchi dei Legionari, expanding the covered area to 1200 m2 and increasing the number of employees to 23.
The test laboratory was implemented, and the most modern equipment purchased for dryer production and final testing.
1996
New WOSS systems
The first experimental WOSS water-oil separation system was created.
1998
New TD series
The research department develops the TD series starting from the nominal flow rate of 800 m3/h.
New controllers
A new series of controllers such as the DMC11/DMC20 was designed and developed. The DMC20 featured the first backlit LCD screen.
2000
Friulair in Thailand
The Thailand factory was opened. Here, dryers suitable for tropical temperatures are still produced.
2000
Second relocation
To meet the increasing national and international market demands and the introduction of further product ranges, Friulair moved to the Cervignano del Friuli (UD) plant. The operating site covered an overall area of 12,400 m2 and a covered area of 4,200 m2, where the research centre, production, sales and administrative offices were located.
2001
New PLS series
The PLS series with brazed stainless steel plates and hot bypass valve was created.
2002
Patent for the ALU-DRY aluminium module
The Friulair ALU-DRY aluminium module was designed and patented. This marked a new era in the compressed air market for compactness, performance and reliability.
New ACT, FT and TDF series
2004
New HDT dryers
The first Friulair cold-regenerated HDT adsorption dryers were launched.
2005
New PLH and PCD dryers
Friulair added the PCD range to its dryers, with cold air output and PLH range for high pressure systems for the PET industry.
New controllers
Friulair developed the new DMC14 and DMC15 controllers - the natural successors of the DMC11 and ADS93.
2006
New AMD series
Friulair developed the AMD series aligned to standard market conditions. This, together with the premium ACT range became the benchmark products in the compressed air treatment market.
2008
New AHT series
The AD successor was launched. This incorporated the AHT aluminium module and strengthened the ACT range by integrating the aftercooler and filter separator.
2009
Creating the CHILLERS’ design structure
Friulair's chiller division was launched by introducing the CWT 50Hz and 60Hz range up to 130 kW. The first Chiller was sold to Birrificio Praforte, in the province of Pordenone, and is still fully operational.
2010
ACT ES - ACT VS Energy Saving dryer range launch: compressed air treatment quality combined with energy savings.
2011
Complete renewal of the ACT, PLH and PCD series
The ACT / PLH / PCD series had the chassis and cooling circuit renewed and adopted the new R407C gas for medium to large size models.
New controllers
A new type of DMC24 controller is developed.
2012
New CWM / CWT chillers
The development of the new CWM range up to 14 kW COOL was initiated. This used the already known ACT dryer structural steelwork. Marketing the CWM / CWT water chillers started after a long phase of in-depth studies, designs and tests.
2014
Site expansion
The factory expansion works began. This was inaugurated in 2014 and increased the production area to 14000 m2.
2015
Development of three new ranges
QBE (up to 25 KW COOL); CWE/HWE: chillers and heat pumps up to 140 KW COOL with fully customised hydronic part; CWB: macro-scroll units with power up to 570 KW COOL.
2016
New: CWB FC with free-cooling and CEN/HEN
are twin machines of the CWE/HWE models, but dedicated to air conditioning and market demands for water production at lower temperatures.
Renovation of the production plant
with four new production lines dedicated to CHILLERS.
2017
MWC / ACW / QBS / CFT / CWV / CDC / BIOCOOL
Development and definitive expansion and consolidation of the CHILLER product range.
2018
R&D LAB
Construction works for the climatic test chamber and R&D laboratory were completed.
2019
During the COMVAC trade fair in Hannover, Friulair celebrated its 30th anniversary and unveiled its new range of FCT dryers with R513A refrigerant.
