Working Principle of Heat pump chillers

1.  1. Heating Mode

  • The refrigerant absorbs heat from the environment (air, water, or ground) in the evaporator.
  • The compressor raises the refrigerant's temperature and pressure.
  • Heat is transferred to the process fluid or air in the condenser for heating purposes.

2.   2. Cooling Mode

  • Heat is absorbed from the process fluid or space being cooled by the evaporator.
  • The refrigerant releases this heat to the environment or another medium in the condenser.

3.   3. Simultaneous Heating and Cooling

  • The system can provide heating and cooling at the same time by balancing heat rejection and absorption between the condenser and evaporator.
