Friulair Chillers offers a range of air-cooled liquid chillers known as "Dry coolers," available in free-cooling mode. The range includes 11 basic models with cooling capacities ranging from 300 to 1200 kW. CDC Drycoolers are suitable for most industrial applications, perfect for outdoor installation and designed to handle harsh environmental conditions.
The "Free Cooling" modules serve as an extension of our CWB-FC range and can be connected in parallel to units in the CWB, CWV, and CFT ranges. For high cooling capacity needs, physically separated cooling units may be required.

Friulair Dry Cooler Chillers Key Features and Advantages
Energy Savings: Using dry coolers in cooling systems is an eco-friendly solution, providing substantial economic benefits through energy savings.
Environmental Sustainability: They use ambient air for cooling, reducing energy consumption compared to systems requiring water.
Easy Installation: Each unit can be perfectly integrated into an existing system or installed in new facilities without power waste.
Reduced Maintenance: Fewer moving parts and the absence of water treatment systems mean less frequent maintenance interventions.
Lower Operating Costs: An additional benefit of installing a CDC unit comes from its closed and pressurized hydraulic circuit. Unlike cooling towers, this concept prevents liquid leakage and reduces the need for ongoing water treatment and system maintenance.
Air Cooling: Utilizes external air, ideal for environments with moderate temperatures.
Adjustable Flow: Often equipped with variable-speed fans to adjust cooling to actual needs.
Corrosion-Resistant Materials: Designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, extending unit longevity.
Modular Design: Configurable for flexibility in meeting specific space and power requirements.
Adiabatic Version: Available upon request, the CDC dry cooler also comes in an adiabatic version, preferable for tropical installations.
Our Range of Dry Cooler Liquid Chillers
MWC
The MWC is a modular water-cooled chiller with scroll compressors and brazed plate heat exchangers. The range includes 7 models with cooling capacities from 21 to 115 kW and the option to connect up to five units in parallel for a total cooling capacity of 575 kW. With its modular design, the MWC chiller meets current and future needs by adding modules as required.
TGR
The TGR water-cooled thermochiller range with integrated free cooling comprises 6 models ranging from 8 to 60 kW. Designed as an eco-friendly solution for injection molding, the TGR thermochiller ensures precise temperature control for molds and optimizes the cooling cycle time. The TGR models use environmentally friendly R513A refrigerant and are designed with integrated free cooling for maximum energy savings.
Dry Cooler Chillers Maintenance Requirements
Coil Cleaning
- Regularly clean the heat exchange coils to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
Fan Inspection
- Ensure fans are operating efficiently and lubricate bearings as needed.
Check for Leaks
- Inspect the closed-loop system for leaks in piping or connections.
Control System Testing
- Test and calibrate thermostats, sensors, and fan speed controls.
Seasonal Checks
- Prepare the system for extreme temperatures, especially if using glycol to prevent freezing in cold climates.
